Hello hello hello my friends! I know, it's been a while. Two months at least. YIKES! So I feel we have a lot of catching up to do. I'll start.
Since we last spoke:
I've retitled my first book again. Empire of Shadow (formerly The Turn of Her Smile (formerly, Bearcat)) has been retitled back to Bearcat. I can't promise it won't change, but that's where we're at today.
I finished plotting my third book in the above mentioned series.
My husband made a great ham for thanksgiving.
I discovered mold in my daughter's Rubber Duckies
I've plotted and begun writing my newest project, which is where i'm going to focus most of my energy in the next couple of months. Stay tuned for a preview below.
I went to my parents house for Christmas
and I realized I haven't had a haircut in almost 2 years.
In the spirit of the new year, I'd like to address a couple of things. Yes, I have vowed to get in shape this year and stop stuffing pizza rolls into all the free spaces inside my stomach. And Yes, I did promise myself that I would stick to my writing schedule this year. And Yes, I did decide to start drinking more water. THESE ARE NOT NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS. They are just decisions that I'm making, conveniently at the start of the year.
With that said, I would like to talk about the cool new project I'm working on for 2021. It's my goal to write 1-4 books this year. I know, 4 is a lot. It's ambitious. But so is eating a large dessert pizza in one sitting, and I've never had trouble with that. I'll settle for writing one, but I'm aiming for more.
Random Audience member: But what are these books you are writing?
Thank you, I'm glad you asked. The titles are still in progress, so i'll call them the Johnathan Island Series. This is a project I started with my super cool mom/brainstorm partner, and my also super cool brother. The idea is to create a fictional place, think Stars Hollow or for you Susie May Warren fans-Deep Haven, and to pump out a string of books set on this island. We'll have quirky locals, cutsie bookshops, and there's even a hunky island cowboy. Who could resist? Here's the opening paragraph from the first book:
The most beautiful thing on Johnathan island isn’t something you can see. It’s a feeling, a sort of magic steeped in the soil of the island. It’s the blaze of light when the bay catches the sun just right. It’s the familiar sound of hooves in the distance on your morning bike-ride commute. It’s flower boxes and butterfly festivals and town-wide birthday parties. It’s the feeling of springtime arriving on the 9:00 ferry.

Quick shout out to my brother, David, who bought my family (but mostly me) and Playstation VR for Christmas and in doing so, fulfilled my dream of being a virtual Bad A#%. I can now be Ironman, a Sith lord, or a virtual office worker any ding-dang time I want.
And we wonder why I haven't been blogging as much.
Keep an eye out for more updates. I promise I won't go three months without posting again.
